Work Performed/Essential Duties

• ·   Deliver the manualized dyadic music-based intervention and the matched attention-control (object-based reminiscence) condition to persons living with dementia (PLWD)/care partner dyads: one 45-minute session per week for 6 weeks following the session structure (session overview and goals; each dyad member selects 2–3 tracks or up to 2 objects; guided discussion of thoughts, feelings, and personal significance; closing statement of the dyad’s plan for the week).
• ·         Within three business days of consent, meet with each dyad via Zoom to complete Gerdner’s Assessment of Personal Music, review the dyad’s existing music media, and build a personalized playlist of at least 20 tracks per person on a mobile device (or loaner device); for control dyads, guide initial selection of personally meaningful objects.
• ·         Train dyads in the three core skills (identifying personally meaningful music, discussing music preference similarities and differences, and engaging in shared listening), tailor materials to the PLWD’s cognitive level (visual supports, plain language, repetition), assign and review weekly mini-reflective homework, and provide between-session support by email according to dyad preference.
• ·         Complete structured, manualized interventionist training (dementia communication strategies, music selection, and therapeutic communication) and attend weekly supervision; audio/video-record sessions for supervision and fidelity audits and maintain competence and adherence =85% using the study fidelity checklist.
• ·         Document session delivery, fidelity checklist ratings, protocol modifications, participant concerns, and adverse events in REDCap and study tracking logs; report safety or clinical concerns to the PIs promptly; assist with baseline and follow-up data collection as needed.
• ·         Contribute to refinement of the intervention manual, training materials, and control-condition prompts; attend monthly team meetings; maintain CITI human subjects training and adhere to IRB, HIPAA, and Good Clinical Practice requirements.
