Job Description

The student will work under the guidance of Dr. Klco in Duke Quantum Center on the analysis of quantum entanglement in the context of open quantum systems, including structural properties of quantum information related to its robustness for quantum simulation applications. The student will work closely with Dr. Klco and her group on this project.

The student will meet periodically with Dr. Klco to share research progress and consider future directions. This project provides an opportunity for a motivated student to be introduced to all facets of the research process. They will have the benefit of being mentored by Dr. Klco while working alongside members of the research group and the Quantum Center. The student will learn what a career in research looks like and develop informal relationships with people at different career stages.

Job Requirements

Undergrad or master’s student with knowledge and/or academic coursework in physics, engineering, or mathematics is a plus.

Experience

· No prior laboratory experience required, but at least 10-12 credits of undergraduate coursework and complementary laboratory courses in Physics, Engineering, or Mathematics
