· Event Planning & Execution: Responsible for assisting the Civil Discourse Project and/or Friends for Duke with events including student roundtables, book seminars, and Distinguished Fellow activities. This includes aiding event promotion: creating graphics; printing and hanging up flyers; posting on social media; and event execution: assisting with invitations, registration, and outreach; staffing events and activities; working the registration table; taking notes for recaps; general setup and takedown; greeting guest speakers, etc · Administrative Tasks: Responsible for general upkeep of the the Civil Discourse Project and/or Friends for Duke website and social media channels, assisting with the monthly newsletter, managing databases and listservs, tracking faculty research and media, student outreach and recruitment, and helping with other administrative needs that arise. · Important Skills: Attention to detail; communicate in a timely and professional manner, follow up as needed; time management and problem solving; ability to work as a team and independently; experience with WordPress, Canva, Qualtrics, and social media platforms preferred. |
