The Global Education Office (GEO) in the Office of Undergraduate Education seeks two reliable, detail-oriented, and self-reliant Duke student assistants to join the GEO Communications Team. The Marketing and Communications Student Interns will assist with projects related to the Global Education Office and Duke Summer Experiences. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Event Support: Serve as a front-facing representative of the division at in-person events, including tabling, information sessions, and campus fairs. Engage with students to share information about global and experiential education opportunities (training provided). Assist with preparation and execution of signature events such as the Global Education Fair and Duke Summer Experiences Fair. • Design: Create and update visual content for digital and print platforms, ensuring alignment with Duke brand standards and GEO guidelines. Tasks may include editing graphics, presentations, and promotional materials using tools such as Canva or the Adobe Creative Suite. • Social Media: Support content creation and management for social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube), including drafting captions, editing short-form video, and updating graphics. Contribute ideas to enhance engagement across accounts (e.g., @dukeglobaled and @dukeexperientialed). • Content Management: Curate, format, and finalize content submitted by GEO Field Ambassadors for the GEO blog, website, and social media. Assist with reviewing Field Ambassador content submissions for completeness and accuracy. • Administrative: Provide general administrative support, including but not limited to updating spreadsheets, maintaining accurate information across platforms, and updating websites. |
