Job Description |
About the Position
The Pratt School of Engineering seeks a Marketing & Communications Intern to support and expand communications related to industry engagement activities across the school. This position is ideal for a student with strong communication skills, experience with social media, and an interest in marketing, higher education, engineering, innovation, or industry partnerships.
Working closely with the Associate Director of Industry Engagement, the intern will help increase visibility of Pratt’s collaborations with industry through digital communications, social media, website content, newsletters, and promotional materials.
This is a fully remote position requiring 10 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Communications, Marketing & Content Creation
• Develop and manage content highlighting industry engagement activities, partnerships, events, and initiatives across Pratt.
• Create and schedule content for LinkedIn and other communication channels, including weekly posts featuring industry-related activities and success stories.
• Draft quarterly newsletters and partner communications to industry contacts and stakeholders.
• Monitor communication performance metrics and recommend improvements to increase engagement and visibility.
Website & Digital Presence
• Assist with updating and maintaining Pratt’s industry engagement webpage.
• Ensure content remains current, accurate, and accessible.
• Support basic website design and content organization efforts.
Event Promotion & Industry Engagement Support
• Promote industry-related events and activities, including company visits, industry summits, career events, advisory board meetings, campus engagement programs, and partnership announcements.
• Develop pre-event promotional content and post-event highlights.
• Maintain organized records of industry engagement activities for future communications and reporting.
Reporting & Process Development
• Help establish and maintain efficient workflows for collecting, organizing, and publishing industry-related content.
• Support the development of communication materials and reports that showcase Pratt’s industry engagement efforts and impact.
• Track communication activities and maintain content databases using tools such as Airtable or similar platforms.

Qualifications
Required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Interest in marketing, communications, engineering, innovation, entrepreneurship, or industry partnerships.
Preferred
• Experience creating content for social media, newsletters, websites, or marketing campaigns.
• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
• Experience with website content management systems such as WordPress.
• Experience with Airtable, project management tools, or customer relationship management platforms.
• Ability to effectively leverage AI tools while maintaining accuracy, quality, brand consistency, and professional judgment
