Research Support

• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize government and academic policy publications.  Recommend publications to review.
• Gather, analyze, and maintain qualitative and quantitative data related to policy, national security, engineering management, and leadership development.
• Assist in preparing presentations, reports, briefs, or white papers.
• Track and share information on current events and emerging issues relevant to national security events, public policy, and engineering/technology trends.
• Accompany and/or participate in selected meetings and calls taking notes to facilitate follow on engagements and actions.

Course Development & Instructional Support

• Help design syllabi, curate course readings, and coordinate guest speakers.
• Support logistics for guest lectures and co-taught courses.  
• Assist with grading, assignment design, and/or assessment materials as permitted by Duke policy.

Event Planning & Student Engagement

• Coordinate student-facing events, workshops, and speaker engagements.
• Serve as a liaison to student groups and faculty programs.  Make engagement recommendations.
• Maintain communication with students and manage scheduling for mentoring or office hours.

Writing, Editorial Assistance, Communications & Outreach

• Edit or draft op-eds, blog posts, or public commentary related to public policy, character and leadership, and emerging engineering/technology trends.
• Support preparation of speech notes, slides, or talking points for academic presentations, campus events, or conferences.
• Assist with developing and coordinate with Duke communications staff regarding presence on university websites and digital platforms, press releases, media appearances, and/or newsletters.

Administrative & Logistical Support

• In coordination with Duke schedule, schedule and calendar events and requests.
• Manage correspondence and maintain organized records of projects and engagements.
• Track deadlines for academic deliverables or institutional partnerships.
• Coordinate and assist with logistics to, from, and on campus during campus visits
