Job Description

Fall 2026 – Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:05-11:20AM OR 1:25-2:40PM (Lecture); Wednesdays Discussion sections (10:20-11:10AM, 12:00-12:50PM, 1:40-2:30PM, 3:20-4:10PM)

Teaching Assistants are undergraduate students who work 5 to 10 hours per week on the course. Their responsibilities are to:

• attend an orientation meeting prior to the start of classes

• read the assigned readings before each class and discussion section

• attend lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays and assist with classroom management

• attend and sometimes lead a weekly Instructional Team meeting

• prepare for discussion sections • lead two weekly discussion sections

• Assist with simulations and debate prep and facilitation

• (optional) hold regular office hours

Job Requirements

Undergrad TA’s must be a Sanford student that has successfully completed PUBPOL 155.

Work-study eligible students highly encouraged. If you have previous experience as a teaching assistant for the Sanford School of Public Policy, you will be eligible to receive an increased pay rate of $21.00 per hour.
