Job Description |
This person will assist Paul Tash in organizing and delivering a lively, popular and rigorous course about the news media and modern American democracy. The teaching assistant will help assemble class materials, maintain the Canvas course site, set up Zoom calls with guest speakers, monitor student attendance and class participation, and coach students about their writing assignments. The teaching assistant will attend all class sessions (on Wednesdays, from 10:05 a.m. until 12:35 p.m.) and perform other duties as may be reasonably assigned. The TA will not be responsible for grading. |

Job Requirements |
The teaching assistant must attend all class sessions (on Wednesdays, from 10:05 a.m. until 12:35 p.m.), having read the required course materials. At the instructor's direction, the TA will assemble course materials on Canvas, arrange and facilitate Zoom calls with guest speakers, monitor student attendance and class participation, and coach students on their assignments. The TA must have a keen interest in the news and journalism, excellent writing skills and an ability to coach others. Attention to detail and reliability are essential. The TA will not have responsibility for grading. |
