Student Programming Assistants assist the CSGD professional staff in creating a more inclusive campus community through the development and implementation of dynamic campus programming in alignment with the CSGD mission of "striv[ing] to achieve an inclusive campus climate for students, staff, faculty, and alumni of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions through education, advocacy, support, mentoring, academic engagement, and providing space." Responsibilities: - Assist with the development and implementation of dynamic programmatic efforts in line with the Center’s mission. - Attend and assist major CSGD programs as outlined during Fall and Spring Training, including but not limited to: Fall Open House, Pride: Durham, NC Parade and Festival, Coming Out Day and LGBTQIA+ History Month, Parents and Family Weekend Social, the Queer and Trans Leadership Series, Transgender Day of Remembrance and Resilience, Alumni Reception(s), Lavender Graduation, Educational Speakers, etc. - Plan, implement and attend weekly Kickback Friday social programming. - Lead and assist with the facilitation of affinity spaces. 30 - Assist in the development of publicity, coordinate the dissemination of marketing materials, and ensure all social media is up-to-date. - Participate in leadership development opportunities as guided by the Student Affairs Leadership Model. - Attend weekly staff meetings and bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with your supervisor. - Participate in mandatory staff training retreat during fall orientation and the beginning of the spring semester. - Staffing of the front desk. - Attend outreach events during undergraduate, and graduate orientation and preview events. - Assist with creating a welcoming, and friendly space for all students, staff and faculty. - Assist with the maintaining and updating of the Center library. |
