A competitive candidate will have academic and/or research experience related to climate change and sustainability, with a demonstrated interest in environmental accounting or emissions reporting. We are seeking an individual who is highly organized and comfortable navigating the technicalities of data collection, as this role serves as an excellent foundation for future work in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory management. While advanced coding is not required, the candidate must have a solid foundation in Microsoft Excel and be adept at maintaining the “audit-ready” records necessary for transparent sustainability reporting. Success in this role depends on meticulous attention to detail. Candidates interested in careers in corporate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), higher education, or municipal climate action planning – specifically those looking to build skills in carbon accounting and environmental impact frameworks – are highly encouraged to apply. APPLICATION PROCESS To apply, please email your resume and cover letter to Imani Dorsey (imani.dorsey@duke.edu) and Jason Elliott (jason.elliott@duke.edu). Your cover letter should tell us why you're interested in this role and how it connects to your academic journey and future career ambitions. Preference will be given to candidates who apply by April 5th. |
