The research assistant will work with Dr. Wenhao Jiang and Dr. Siwei Cheng (NYU) on an ongoing project that measures social segregation at the interaction level. The primary responsibilities include identifying social interactions from images, coding the demographic characteristics of individuals within those interactions, and organizing the results in an Excel spreadsheet. Outstanding students will also have the opportunity to learn the research pipeline and work with Vision Large Language Models (VLLMs) to assist in the coding process. If applicable, students will have the opportunity to develop programming skills through DataCamp and its various self-paced courses and resources. |
