Position Description: As a member of the Women’s Center team, the Graduate Assistant (GA) for Her Garden: The Women of Color Mentoring Initiative primarily supports the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Initiative. Informed by feminist, womanist, and social justice principles and theory, Her Garden serves as a space for women and femmes of color to grow into their authentic selves by meeting regularly with a mentor and attending monthly workshops led by subject matter experts. The GA will work closely with the Assistant Director for Community Engagement to support mentee/mentor recruitment, establish mentorship matches, facilitate regular 1:1 meetings with mentees, and more. In addition, the GA will be expected to support other special projects, including Women’s History Month programs. Position Responsibilities: • Assist in planning, coordination, and implementation of Her Garden programming • Coordinate logistics for Her Garden workshops and End-of-Year Celebration (including space reservations, catering orders, materials, and communications) • Maintain mentee/mentor records, attendance, and programming calendar • Draft and distribute promotional content, newsletters, and program updates using Canva or Emma • Revise program documents, forms, manuals, and assessments as needed • Assist in collecting and analyzing assessments from mentors and mentees to highlight program impact and identify areas for improvement • Build and maintain relationships with campus partners and student organizations • Support recruitment and selection processes for new mentors and mentees • Represent Her Garden at campus and community events, fairs, and meetings. • Manage email communication with cohort participants and campus partners • Greet visitors and guests at the front desk |
