Job Description |
Position Title: Multimedia & Narrative Video Producer Position Type: Part-time employment, flexible hours, typically 7-10 hours per week Duration: Spring and Fall 2026 Semesters with options to renew Location: On-campus with significant asynchronous component work possible We are seeking up to three dynamic and creative Multimedia and Narrative Video Producers to support our efforts at the Pratt School of Engineering. The assistants will assist in various internal and external multimedia and narrative video projects for Pratt Master's Programs, primarily focused on video content development. Producers are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy and independence, professionalism in engaging with stakeholders and subjects, and creativity and precision in delivering high-quality content appropriate for the Duke and Pratt Brands. Key Responsibilities: - Learn, understand and apply the Duke brand identity guidelines to create content and develop visual stories that embody the Duke look and feel to support Pratt Master’s Programs.
- Create multimedia and video content for the Master's Programs outbound marketing efforts (email, website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and create evergreen content.
- Assist the Pratt School of Engineering’s communications and Master’s Programs staff by researching and ideating on creative concepts, and designing storyboards to support the visual storytelling process through photos and video.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end pipeline of multimedia and video content creation, including stakeholder engagement, storyboarding, location scouting, participant scheduling, video capture, editing, review and iteration, and delivery.
- Cover events (eg. symposiums, courses, etc.) to create quick social media/video posts.
- Assist in tracking trends in university communications and identifying ways to improve our communication strategies.
- Collaborate with team members to create engaging and informative newsletter content.

Job Requirements |
- Must be enrolled in a degree-granting program at Duke University. Work-study eligible preferred.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram preferred.
- Experience with video content creation - both narrative and short-form. Comfortable with smartphone and mirrorless camera video capture. Experience with or interest in microphones, gimbals, lighting, etc. is prized.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere; or, at least, experience with other tools in the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment, and to meet deadlines.
- Outstanding communication and client/customer service skills.
- Opportunity is ideal for a student passionate about multimedia content production, communications, journalism, or marketing, and looking to gain professional experience. The students will be given real-world experience and have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in the field.
