Using Warren lab custom optical microscopes, the group acquires three-dimensional data sets in a wide range of samples, from biological tissue to historical artworks. These data sets are then analyzed post-acquisition with a range of mathematical tools, such as phasor analysis, principal component analysis, or other machine learning tools. These tools are distributed over a range of packages (some are in Matlab, others in Mathematica, some in custom python packages). In order to streamline the analysis, the lab aims to merge these tools into a common platform that offers a graphical user interface (GUI) for analysis, basic visualization, and some automation (scripting) capabilities. |
