The Duke University Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity seeks a Graduate Assistant to join our staff for the 2026 Spring Semester. About the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity: The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity strives to achieve an inclusive campus climate for students, staff, faculty, and alumni with marginalized sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions through education, advocacy, support, mentoring, academic engagement, and providing space. The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity has existed at Duke University since 1994, though with many different names and locations. We employ three full-time professionals, the Director, Assistant Director, and Staff Specialist. We are located on the top floor of the Bryan Center on West Campus. For more information on all of our programs and services, please visit our website at www.studentaffairs.duke.edu/csgd About the position: The Graduate Assistant in the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity’s primary responsibility includes the coordination of graduate and professional student outreach and programming. Currently, eleven graduate and professional LGBTQIA+ groups exist on campus and are affiliated with the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity. The Graduate Assistant can expect to gain broad experience with the operations of a university student affairs center serving students with marginalized sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. Responsibilities: - Coordinates graduate and professional student outreach and programming
- Assist with the daily operations of the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity
- Assist with the development and implementation of dynamic programmatic efforts in line with the CSGD mission
- Assist with the delivery and facilitation of the CSGD trainings including our signature educational program, Pursuing Respect, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (PRIDE) Training, Trans 101 Training and other special by-request trainings.
- Provide indirect supervision of Student Programming Assistants
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
This position requires a commitment of 10 hours per week, with an exact schedule to be determined upon hiring. The estimated dates of employment are January 7th, 2026 through the Spring Semester.
