The Duke Center for International Development (DCID), a unit within Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy, invites applications for a Research Assistant. The individual will work closely with Dr. Jonathan Stromseth, Professor of the Practice at the Sanford School, and Jack Daly, the Research Manager at DCID, on a project that focuses on the relationship between the US and Vietnam. The “U.S.-Vietnam Futures Initiative” project will stage dialogue events that explores different dimensions of the bilateral relationship. The fall 2025 semester will see an event in Washington, DC, from October 5-8. Specific activities for this GRA position could include: - Conducting literature reviews and other scans to help Dr. Stromseth prepare for hosting the three-day session.
- After the dialogue event, the GRA would be expected to draft memos and other outputs that summarize both the event and supporting research.
- Other work as identified by project managers.
Work will begin in the second half of September and continue through the remainder of the calendar year. Extension into the spring 2026 is possible depending on progress on summary materials. DCID anticipates much of the work will be conducted remotely. DCID will pay the Sanford School rate ($16.75/hour).
