Duke Center for Documentary Studies (CDS) seeks a Duke undergraduate student to support communications and programs. Build your creative content portfolio while honing your skills in writing, multimedia production, design, social media and event and exhibit coordination as part of a team of staff and students who will produce, present and share content through a variety of platforms. This position requires an average of 15 hours per week while classes are in session. Hours may not exceed 19.9 hours per week. We are seeking a student who can start as soon as possible and continue through the Fall 2025 semester and potentially Spring 2026. Possible activities - Interview students, faculty members, alumni or visiting artists
- Write feature stories, event pages, announcements or other pieces
- Make and edit photographs for website stories or social media
- Film and edit short videos or audio pieces
- Update website content
- Design graphics
- Draft social media posts
- Help design and produce emails and newsletters in Mailchimp
- Promote and assist with events or exhibitions
- Staff the front desk and answer visitor questions
