The Center for Advanced Hindsight at Duke University is seeking Undergraduate or Masters-level student research assistants to support our research projects throughout the academic year. This is an opportunity to learn more about what it's like to work at an applied behavioral science lab, gain relevant skills, and contribute to ongoing research designed to improve lives. Research activities include conducting literature reviews, developing prototypes, gathering qualitative data (surveys and interviews), designing experiments, analyzing data, writing up results for publications and presentations, and more. Research projects will focus on financial health and decision-making, including topics such as student borrowing, financial slack, trust, and income volatility. The teams at CAH aim to partner with financial institutions, research foundations, universities, employers, community organizations, and other groups to test creative policy solutions. We design and run randomized controlled trials and rigorously measure our impact. We analyze outcome data and report the results in academic journals and popular press pieces so that solutions might be scaled to other institutions and governments. Hourly pay will vary depending on whether the student is in a graduate or undergraduate level program. |
