POSITION: Inventory Support Clerk OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY: Perform a variety of clerical and manual tasks involving the receipt, verification, storage, and issuance of merchandise to and from the Duke University Distribution Center. This position focuses on clerical and inventory management duties using software and hand-held palm devices to track and account for warehouse inventory as it enters and leaves the Distribution Center. WORK PERFORMED: - Receive and unpack shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and invoices; record receiving reports on all merchandise; prepare reports concerning shortages and damaged materials received; store material according to established procedures. - Pull stock to fill requisitions from various departments as directed and complete the relevant forms in accordance with required procedures. - Generate storeroom issue documents using microcomputers and inter-departmental software applications. - Assist with the audit of warehouse inventory and the alignment of physical and clerical inventory. - Perform other duties relevant to Distribution Center operations. |
