Two full time, summer research positions are available in The Patek Lab in the Department of Biology at Duke University during Summer 2025! Topic: Hands-on research in comparative biomechanics, evolution, and both marine and terrestrial arthropods. Who: Students interested in additional research experience prior to applying to graduate school or other future careers in research science. Training & Experiences: Through this summer position you will gain experience in experimental design, data collection/analysis/management, scientific writing, high speed imaging, digital image analysis via machine learning, data analysis and visualization, optical engineering, physical modeling, and aquarium systems. Wage: $18/hr Start/end date: Flexible, but must commit to a total of two to three months of work (either or both summer sessions across May, June, July, and August). Must be available for a minimum of 19.9 hrs/week, ideally 40 hrs/week.
