The Duke Center for International Development (DCID), a unit within Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy, invites applications for a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) for the spring 2025 semester. The GRA will work closely with Dr. Jonathan Stromseth, Professor of the Practice at the Sanford School, and Jack Daly, the Research Manager at DCID, on a project that is interested in tracking climate innovations in Southeast Asia. One of DCID’s outputs will be to design and construct a data visualization platform that will illustrate financial flows to climate projects, including official flows, private investments, and blended finance. The GRA’s work will help DCID scope the effort and provide foundational work for subsequent stages of the project. The larger project is a two-year initiative that could include work throughout the 2025 calendar year depending on interests and job performance. The larger project is a two-year initiative that could include work throughout the 2025 calendar year depending on interests and job performance. Applicants with data science training, familiarity with global climate trends and knowledge of the region will be given priority. Strong time management and communication skills are critical. DCID anticipates much of the work will be conducted remotely, although physical space can be made available in Rubenstein Hall. Weekly meetings with project staff will likely be conducted in person in Rubenstein Hall. DCID will pay the Sanford School rate ($16.75/hour). The time commitment is expected to be 10-15 hours per week. |
