Job Requirements |
What you’ll be doing: - Teaching workshops: Lead group workshops on a variety of topics, from 3D printing and laser cutting to electronics, CNC machining, and more. Help students, faculty, and staff gain the skills they need to complete their projects and turn their ideas into reality.
- Providing training: Offer training sessions for Co-Lab users who need help with specific tools or projects.
- Creating educational content: Develop instructional materials such as video tutorials, step-by-step guides, and tool documentation that help users learn how to use the Co-Lab’s equipment safely and effectively.
- Promoting hands-on learning: Foster a culture of collaboration and experimentation by encouraging creative problem-solving and exploration of new technologies.
- Assisting with tool usage: Provide oversight and support to ensure safe and effective use of all Co-Lab tools, including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and electronics equipment.
- Supporting community engagement: Work closely with other Co-Lab staff to create a welcoming environment where students, faculty, and staff feel comfortable exploring new ideas and gaining new skills.
Qualifications: - Strong experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, electronics, and other makerspace tools.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring others in hands-on environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in an accessible, engaging way.
- Experience developing educational content (e.g., videos, written guides, tutorials) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to the needs of diverse learners.
- Enthusiasm for fostering a creative, inclusive, and collaborative makerspace environment.
