Job Description |
The Innovation Co-Lab is looking for a creative and passionate student to join our team as a Content Creator. In this role, you will be responsible for producing and sharing engaging and high-quality visual content that showcases the innovation, projects, and culture of our makerspace. You will work closely with the marketing team to develop photo, video, and other multimedia content for social media, promotional materials, and event marketing. |
Job Requirements |
Key Responsibilities: Capture and post high-quality photos and videos of makerspace events, workshops, projects, and everyday activities. Create and post engaging Instagram posts, stories, and reels that highlight the makerspace’s activities, equipment, and student projects. Plan and produce short-form and long-form video content for social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.). Edit and enhance videos and photos using professional editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or other editing software). Work closely with the Content Strategist role to implement content strategies and calendar planning for various campaigns. Conduct interviews with makerspace participants, staff, and project teams to create feature stories for newsletters, blogs, and social media. Maintain an organized archive of visual content and media assets for future use. Stay updated on social media trends and suggest creative ways to promote the makerspace's activities. Assist in live streaming events and workshops as needed. Ensure all content aligns with the brand identity of the makerspace and is optimized for each platform’s audience. Representing and Documenting the Co-Lab at marketing events and speaking to the broader Duke community about the program. Monitor our Social Media followers by engaging with tags, comments, direct messages, and posts.
Qualifications: Experience or coursework in content creation, digital marketing, video production, photography, or related fields. Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) and a solid understanding of trends, best practices, and audience engagement. Proficiency in photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Canva, etc.). Strong storytelling skills and the ability to create compelling content that resonates with a diverse audience. Experience in cinematography or filmmaking is a plus. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects at once. Creativity, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
