Position Overview: The Research Assistant will support a multidisciplinary research project focused on the Food, Energy, Water (FEW) nexus and its implications for health, particularly in the context of Puerto Rico and disasters. The role involves conducting a literature review, searching for relevant policy documents in both English and Spanish, and assisting in qualitative data analysis using MAXQDA software. Key Responsibilities: - Literature Review:
- Conduct a comprehensive literature review on the FEW nexus and its relationship to health outcomes and disasters.
- Summarize key findings and organize references using citation management software (e.g., EndNote, Zotero).
- Document Search:
- Identify and collect policy documents, guidelines, and regulations related to the FEW nexuses and health, focusing on materials available in both English and Spanish in Puerto Rico as well as in the United States.
- Organize and catalog these documents systematically for easy reference by the research team.
- Qualitative Data Analysis Support:
- Assist in the development of a codebook for qualitative data analysis.
- Use MAXQDA software to code and analyze qualitative data under the guidance of the research team.
- Maintain detailed records of coding decisions and emerging themes.
- General Research Support:
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks.
- Assist with other research-related tasks as needed, including data entry, transcription, or preliminary data analysis.
