Job Description

The Innovation Co-Lab is a creativity incubator that seeks to provide tech education, support, and a space where you can make your ideas come to life. We seek to elevate and inspire Duke students, faculty, and staff who are solving problems, big and small, through our ever-changing technological environment. We are looking for a student graphic designer to assist in the promotion of our Roots workshops, Co-Lab Events, Design initiatives, group projects, and more. The ideal candidate will work closely with our marketing and newsletter teams to design both physical and digital flyers and create visual assets for our weekly themes.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Design Skills
- Ability to take clear, interesting photos (phone is fine).
- Proficiency in graphic design, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva preferred.
- Design eye-catching flyers, posters, and digital materials to advertise Roots classes and Co-Lab events.
- Assist the Newsletter team by creating unique characters and graphics that align with weekly themes.
Collaboration Skills
- Collaborate with staff to maintain brand consistency across marketing materials.
- Collaborate with broader Co-Lab staff to create marketing materials for Co-Lab groups such as DEV team, DesignHub, MPS, Blusmith, and others.
Organizational Skills
- Meets deadlines consistently.
- Keeps detailed and organized notes.
- Ability to juggle several projects with varying priorities at once.
Marketing Skills
- Represent the Co-Lab at marketing events and speaking to the broader Duke community about the program.
- Other job duties as assigned
