Tutors will be expected to: -Attend each tutoring session you signed up for. -Attend Orientation on Saturday, September 6th. -Attend professional development training and health & wellness sessions each semester. -Complete thoughtful and robust bi-weekly reflection logs. -Submit bi-weekly payroll ON TIME. -Understand that working with children requires reliability and dedication. Being an L2S tutor is a professional commitment that requires timely communication with program staff about payroll, site coordinating, and training. -Maintain regular and punctual attendance at tutoring site, training sessions, and reflection meetings throughout the academic school year which includes maintaining a tutoring schedule during class exams and paper deadlines. -Understand that any scheduling changes must be approved in advance by L2S Program Staff. Required Trainings and Background Checks: Tutors will be expected to: -Complete Duke University’s Minors Policy Training -Attend orientation on Saturday, September 6th -Submit Durham Public School (DPS)/Afterschool background check -Submit or resubmit, a DPS volunteer registration -Get a Tuberculosis (TB) Test prior to service Interview Details: If selected for an interview, please note that additional student status, demographic information, financial aid awards, and tutor expectation information will be reviewed. |
