The Duke Human Simulation and Patient Safety Center (HSPSC) is seeking a dedicated and motivated intern to work closely with Carlos Falcon, a Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS), and Dr. Ankeet Udani, Director of the HSPSC and Associate Professor of Anesthesiology. About the Opportunity: This internship offers the chance to work at the forefront of healthcare simulation, where you will be involved in the day-to-day operations of a cutting-edge simulation center. You will gain hands-on experience in medical simulation technology, educational program design, and data analysis, working under the guidance of Carlos Falcon, a seasoned expert in healthcare simulation management, and Dr. Ankeet Udani, an internationally known physician educator.
Key Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will assist with: - Simulation Lab Management: Support the operation, setup, and maintenance of medical simulators and audiovisual systems used in simulations. - Educational Program Development: Help design and implement simulation training sessions and curricula for medical students and healthcare professionals. - Data Analysis: Assist in organizing and analyzing simulation data to assess training effectiveness and improve teaching methodologies. - Equipment Maintenance: Participate in the routine upkeep of simulation equipment, including inventory management and troubleshooting. - Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work alongside faculty members and external partners to coordinate and deliver simulation programs. - Research and Innovation: Engage in ongoing research to explore new technologies and methodologies in simulation-based education.
