Overview: As part of The Shared Kidney Care Study, I am developing and conducting a pilot test of a dyadic disease management program focused on enhancing teamwork and relationship functioning within the partnership between older adults and their care partners to benefit well-being as they navigate life on dialysis. The Collaboration: The pilot test requires one or more Interventionists to deliver the intervention via Duke Zoom. The Interventionist(s) will work with me to develop and refine intervention content (i.e., session scripts) as well as undergo necessary preparation or training for intervention delivery. Timeline: ASAP. The intervention will occur on a rolling basis and span 7 weeks. Week 1 entails the completion of a pre-assessment questionnaire administered by a clinical research coordinator (CRC) or myself. Weeks 2, 3, 4, and 5 will each involve Interventionist-led sessions with the care dyad. Week 7 marks the final week of participation in which the care dyad completes a post-assessment survey administered by the CRC or myself. Each assessment and intervention session will be approximately 1 hour in length (i.e., the interventionist will dedicate at least 4 hours of time to each care dyad). Hours: Flexibility is required. Hours will vary by week and by participant demand. Initially, there will be consistency when in the developmental stages of the intervention but once recruitment begins, hours will be based on results of the recruitment process. Each recruited dyad will requre at least 4 hours of the Interventionist's time over the span of 4 consecutive weeks (1 hour per week for 4 weeks). Participants will choose session times that best fit their dialysis schedule and therefore require the Interventionist to be available after hours and on weekends as well. Remote work: The intervention will be delivered via Duke Zoom and I work off-site, so the position is 100% remote. Pay will be in accordancw with policies set forth by the School of Medicine (currently used $17 as a placeholder). The position will start ASAP and last through the end of recruitment (currently used academic year as a placeholder). |
