Occupational Summary — Student Employee Provide recreational support to members of the Duke University community by helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming facility environment. Student employees assist with monitoring facility entry and activity areas, safeguarding equipment, and supporting daily operations. This role includes communicating and reinforcing facility cleanliness standards while helping ensure spaces and equipment remain organized, presentable, and ready for use. Student staff contribute to a positive recreational experience through attentiveness, teamwork, and customer-focused service.
Work Performed — Student Employee Inspect assigned recreational areas for cleanliness, organization, and potential safety concerns; promptly report maintenance or repair needs to supervisors. Assist in maintaining recreational equipment in safe, usable condition through routine checks and proper storage. Help communicate and reinforce facility cleanliness expectations to patrons while monitoring activity areas to support a safe environment. Monitor facility entry and usage in accordance with established guidelines. Provide courteous assistance to members and support daily operational tasks as directed.
