Overview:

The Student Leadership Specialist (SLS) role within Student Involvement & Leadership supports the office mission through training and leadership programming. This role will support our office-wide leadership programs, including the Next Level Leadership Series. This position will facilitate workshops, host focus groups, and other special projects designed to further the mission of leadership development campuswide.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitate workshops regularly as a part of the Next Level Leadership Series
• Participate in office-wide events, including the Leadership Symposium, Next Level Leadership Summit, Leadership Week, and Duke Groups Fair
• Host leadership programming and deliver workshops for targeted audiences (i.e. first-year students, student athletes, international students, etc.)
• Participate in recruitment efforts for office leadership programs
• Attend weekly team meetings
• Serve as part of the greater Student Involvement and Leadership team, offering opportunities for connection related to student organization support, large-scale programming, event management and logistics, and leadership development. Support office and departmental programs as an additional event support member at evening and weekend programming
• Perform other duties as assigned, including executing administrative projects and team assignments
