DUTIES · Advise up to 5 programming committees of DUU. To view all committees, visit duuke.org (note: final advising load will be determined by candidate’s interest, future goals, and supervisor) · Advise up to 2 vice presidents of DUU. · Meet regularly with advisees and supervisor. · Assist in student organization management including contracts, budget, payroll, hiring and training. · Sit on large scale university programming committees such as LAAC (Last Day of Classes Administrative Advisory Committee). · Serve as part of the greater Campus Life team, offering opportunities for connection related to student organization support, large-scale programming, event management and logistics, and leadership development. Support office and departmental programs as an additional event support member at evening and weekend programming. · Perform other duties as assigned, including executing administrative projects, team assignments, and committee work. REQUIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Education: Must be enrolled in a graduate program. This position is open to masters or doctoral students. · Experience: One year of event planning or programming experience (including undergraduate) is preferred · Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable about risk management, event planning, and student supervision and advising. |
