Job Description

Front Desk Assistants are the first point of contact for students, families, visitors, and vendors to our Residence Life Offices. This position is a customer service-oriented role that requires staff to be able to engage with visitors in a courteous, polite, and helpful manner. Below are the general requirements of the Front Desk Assistant:

Staff the Residence Life customer service desk at designated hours between 8:30a.m. and 5:00p.m. Some evening or weekend hours may be requested
Greet students, staff, and parents to the office as the first point of contact.

Respond to general inquiries by phone or sent to the Campus Office HRL Office e-mail account.

Check-out access cards, room keys, or programming equipment to students and staff.

Assist the office Staff Assistant in processing work order requests.

Support other data entry processes of the Campus Office.

Support the Staff Assistants by conducting periodic inventories of keys, office and programming supplies

Conduct periodic building walkthroughs.

Other administrative duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements

Must be a current Duke University student at the undergraduate, graduate, or professional student level.

Must be able to lift equipment up to 25lbs.

Ability to be courteous, polite, and a willingness to help others.
