Brief Description: The Social Media Activist or Social Engagement Intern’s role is to manage the Women’s Center’s presence across social media platforms, including Instagram, Femilist listserv, and other platforms as noted. In this position, students will hone and strengthen their creative and storytelling skills, writing short blog posts and scripts for the up-and-coming FemmePod while spreading awareness of the Women’s Center’s work Responsibilities: - Create content for and manage the Femilist, the WC social media accounts, and the FemmePod
- Maintain a regular schedule of posts via HeyOrca social media management platform
- Publicize WC events, collaborative events w/ other centers, and events requested by the Centers and student groups we serve
- Create posts for national observances that speak to our audience and/or mission/vision/values
- Unless otherwise noted, record/photograph signature WC events and WDWs to maintain a catalogue of photos/videos for better website/social media content
- Work with the Leadership Intern to table and staff WC events, including evening and after-hours programming like Wind Down Wednesday
- Collaborate with the Leadership Intern and Assistant Director to continually revise the Intern Handbook for the next generation of interns
- Intern staff are expected to work 6-8 hours per week with at least two office hours physically in the Center (located in the Bryan University Center)
