The Women’s Center Graduate Assistant’s role is to take on special projects, under the direction of the Director and Assistant Director, that help promote the Women’s Center’s mission of educating the Duke community about gender equity, feminism/womanism, and social justice causes. Examples of past special projects include research into establishing a Women of Color mentoring program for women/femme-identified students of color at Duke. Another example of a special project includes researching, interviewing for, and producing episodes of the FemmePod, the Women’s Center’s podcast for gender equity and feminist issues. The Graduate Assistant will also work closely with both the AD and the WC interns to create and implement programming for Women’s Center monthly events like Wind Down Wednesdays and the new Lunch & Learn series. |
