Job Description |
This Positon is For Duke Divinity Th.D. Students Only Teaching Assistants (including preceptors in core courses and DMin teaching assistants) Teaching assistants are integral to the formation of students at Duke Divinity School. Although the primary task of teaching assistants is to teach and provide instructional support, they also guide and lead students, acting as mentors and creators of a hospitable and inclusive learning environment. Teaching Assistants must follow all policies and guidelines of the instructional support role. Requirements: • Ability to lead effective preceptorials that foster student learning • Willingness to meet with individual students as directed by the instructor and/or as reasonably requested by students in order to foster student success • Ability to create a classroom environment where all students to feel comfortable and participate equally in teaching preceptorial discussions, with sensitivity to under-represented groups • Stong focus for substantive feedback offerings on student submissions • Excellent, clear and timely communication skills with instructors and other stakeholders in student success • Support hybrid and online learning environments including asynchronous learning, synchronous learning, and management of Zoom and Sakai (DDS’s learning management system) |
