Law Professor Jeff Ward is seeking 1-2 MA in Bioethics & Science Policy (JD/MA or full time MA) students to assist with the following project. Brief description While many organizations have been devoted to the responsible, safe, and ethical use of AI generally, only recently do we see organizations and tools focused on the responsible, ethical, and safe use of AI to advance the practice of law and delivery of legal services. There is a desperate need for best practices, guidelines, safe harbors, and standards that will make it easier for corporations, courts, and legal service providers to leverage AI responsibly and expand access to legal assistance. We’d like to conduct a brief responsible AI in law ecosystem analysis and build a brief ethics taxonomy – who is doing what, what’s missing, etc. This would involve looking at projects and their principles. For example:
