GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANTS NEEDED! Race, Genomics, and Society – Fall 2024 AAAS 261D/BIOLOGY 261D/CULANTH 261D/ GLHLTH 258D/SCISOC 258D/VMS 274D (Instructor: Dr. Charmaine DM Royal) We are seeking to hire four graduate Teaching Assistants (TAs) for Race, Genomics, and Society (RGS), a large undergraduate lecture course that explores a broad range of themes and questions related to scientific, clinical, ethical, societal, cultural, psychosocial, and policy issues at the intersection of race and genetics. RGS is open to Duke undergraduate students at all levels and from any discipline in the arts, humanities, and sciences (natural, social, formal, and applied). There are no prerequisites for the course. Responsibilities Each Teaching Assistant will lead one of four 75-minute Discussion Sections held each Friday during the fall semester. TAs will also attend 75-minute RGS lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays, help guide students on course assignments, assist with grading, maintain Canvas site for the course, and perform other related duties to support the implementation of the course. Hours and Rate of Pay TAs will work a maximum of 19.9 hours per week and will receive a maximum stipend of $6,100.00 for the semester – August 26, 2024 to December 16, 2024.
