The Office of University Scholars and Fellows (OUSF) is seeking a Graduate Assistant to serve as a part-time advisor and coordinator for nationally competitive scholarships. This position entails advising applicants who are considering and planning to programs, such as the Rhodes, Marshall, and Fulbright. The role also entails writing endorsement letters, communicating with applicants, participating in interviews, and managing components of the submission processes. Applicants for the scholarship programs include rising seniors, graduate students, and alumni. The GA for this position will receive support and training throughout the summer, with the goal of taking independent advising appointments. The GA will support the Nationally Competitive Scholarships team throughout the application cycles. Job Duties: · Working with applicants for the Rhodes, Marshall, and Fulbright Scholarship programs by providing feedback on written materials, including application drafts and offering suggestions and best practices for letters of recommendation and affiliation letter requests. · Checking-in with candidates via email periodically on the status of their applications and the applicants' participation in writing groups. · Supporting the coordination of candidate interviews. · Participating in the applicant interview process with other faculty and staff on campus. · Writing, reviewing, and revising Rhodes and Marshall endorsement letters and Campus Committee Evaluation Forms for submission to the Fulbright program. · Supporting and communicating with the NCS team on logistics associated with the application processes.
