The Jordt laboratory in the Department of Anesthesiology seeks an undergraduate student research assistant to support projects in pain and addiction research. Tasks include support of mouse behavioral experiments and basic lab operations for projects in Tobacco Regulatory Science, studying the addictiveness of new tobacco products and the effects of nicotine, flavor ingredients and other additives. Tasks may also involve wet lab techniques such as nucleic acid preparations, PCR and immunoassays, cell culture experiments, and toxicological techniques. Maintenance of a clean and safe lab bench, and good record keeping are required. Training will be provided. Prior research experience, especially with mouse handling, is a plus. Requirements: Completion of lab classes or prior lab research experience, GPA of 3.2 or higher.
