Please review the job description and responsibilites in it's entirety: Position Summary: The Sport Programs Operations Supervisor will be responsible for a variety of duties in conjunction with the operations of Sport Programs within Recreation & Physical Education at Duke University. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Sport Programs and will support both Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs, as well as assist in the administration of Open Recreation for the Duke Community. All maintenance and other issues should be reported to the Assistant Director of Sport Programs. The Sport Programs Operations Supervisor will primarily work evening and weekend hours, sometimes in adverse weather conditions. SPORT CLUBS RESPONSIBILITIES: The Sport Programs Operations Supervisor will be working during Sport Club practices, games, and tournaments. Staff will be required to assist the Coordinator of Sport Clubs or Sport Club Supervisor with the following: - Opening proper gates for field access and usage, and lock up at the end of the event
- Assist clubs in set up of field and equipment, including turning on and off lights in accordance with the Athletics facilities schedule
- Assist club with equipment break-down and proper storage, following conclusion of event
- Set up water coolers and refill as necessary during practices and events
- Respond to any injury or emergency in accordance with EAP
- Enforce policies and rules of the fields
- Answer questions and concerns brought by patrons and/or their guests
- Assist the Sport Club Supervisor in managing participants and their guests during events
- Scan fields/facilities for trash and other equipment that needs to be discarded or stored at the end of the night
- Maintain Sport Club storage space at all facilities; ensure items stored, secured and area clean after use
- Work with the Assistant Director of Sport Programs to make determination if playing conditions are acceptable for grass fields after inclement weather
- Monitor weather conditions and implement EAP for inclement weather, in coordination with Sport Club Supervisor and Athletic Trainer
- Dispose of trash and re-line all trash cans/recycling as necessary
- Report all maintenance and other issues to the Assistant Director of Sport Programs immediately
- Assist on-site employees as needed
INTRAMURAL SPORTS RESPONSIBILITIES: The Sport Programs Operations Supervisor will be working during Intramural Sport league and tournament events. Staff will be required to assist the Coordinator of Intramural Sports, Intramural Sport Supervisors, Intramural Sport Scorekeepers, and Intramural Sport Officials with the following: - Opening proper gates for field access and usage, and lock up at the end of the event
- Set up of field and equipment, including turning on and off lights in accordance with the Athletics facilities schedule

OPEN RECREATION RESPONSIBILITIES: The Sport Program Operation Supervisor will be working during Open Recreation hours. Open recreation hours will be scheduled for use by current Recreation & Physical Education members to participate in non-structured sport activities. All participants must be currently enrolled in Duke University or members of Duke Recreation and Physical Education and will present their Duke University ID to the Sport Programs Operations Supervisor prior to entry. - Opening proper gates for field access and usage, and lock up at the end of the event
- Set up of field and equipment, including turning on and off lights in accordance with the Athletics facilities schedule
- Issue equipment to patrons in accordance with activities scheduled for that day
- Set up of water coolers and refilling as necessary during Open Rec
- Respond to any injury or emergency in accordance with EAP
- Enforce policies and rules of the fields
- Answer questions and concerns brought by patrons and/or their guests
- Monitor weather conditions and implement EAP for inclement weather, in coordination with the Assistant Director of Sport Programs
- Equipment break-down and proper storage at the end of the night
- Scan fields/facilities for trash and other equipment that needs to be discarded or stored at the end of the night
- Proper clean up and storage of lost & found items
- Dispose of trash and re-line all trash cans/recycling as necessary
- Report all maintenance and other issues to the Assistant Director of Sport Programs immediately
- Other duties as assigned
