A Duke student employee whose primary function is that of enrollment in a full-time degree program at Duke, and employment at Duke secondary to such a primary role. This position is for Chemistry Undergraduate students only; assist the Chemistry Undergraduate program as a Teaching Assistant in support of the course instructor and|or graduate student TAs. This role may include lecture, discussion sections, proctoring and|or lab support (set-up). Undergraduate TAs must attend any meeting deemed necessary and held by the instructor; discussion points may include the syllabus, upcoming exams and course trajectory within the semester. TAs are required to hold office hours in an effort to help students understand better the course topics and material, responsibilities will never include grading. Consideration for this position will include student’s background in specific Chemistry coursework, attention to detail, dependability, confidentiality and responsiveness.
